Chiropractic Helps Women Avoid C-Sections

Chiropractic helps women avoid C-section

In this article, A 36 year old woman was told by her Obstetrician she would have to have a C-section.  She was 32 weeks pregnant, with her baby 180 degrees from the normal head down position for birth. (confirmed by ultrasound)

The patient sought the advice of a Chiropractor certified in the Webster In-Utero Constraint Technique, Dr. Anne Lundquist.

Within 2 sessions with this Chiropractor, the new ultrasound showed the baby was in the proper position for birth (head down).

Dr. Jeanne Ohm D.C, the Executive Coordinator of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, described the techique as "It reduces interference to the nervous system, balances out pelvic muscles and ligaments, which in turn removes torsion to the uterus. It allows the baby to get into the best possible position for birth."

The article did note that the success rate for this technique drops if the patient has passed the 34th week of pregnancy.
