Chiropractic Boost the Apgar Score

Apgar score and Chiropractic
An infant was helped by Chiropractic after being born with Transient Tachypnea of Newborns (TTN).
This disorder is a benign, self-limiting respiratory disorder presenting in the first 1-2 hours after delivery, and usually resolves 2-5 days of age.  This disorder causes a high respiratory rate exceeding 60 breaths per minute, nasal flaring, grunting, retractions, cyanosis, poor feeding, and a lower Apgar score.
In this article, an infant was born with TTN and a Apgar score of 6 was given after 1 minute of birth, with a respiratory rate of 93 breaths per minute
A chiropractor was on site, and asked to examine the baby, he found a subluxation in the upper cervical spine and adjusted the infant.
After 10 minutes of birth, the infant's Apgar score was a normal 9 (8-9 is normal), with the respiratory rate at 80 breaths per minute.  After 1 hour, the respiratory rate went to 74 breaths per minute.  After 12 hours, the respiratory rate was 60 breaths per minute (40-60 is normal), and all other findings were within normal limits.
The authors of this study concluded "The case of a newborn diagnosed with Transient Tachypnea of Newborn is presented. Respiratory rate, Apgar score, and other signs of TTN improved dramatically following an upper cervical adjustment to reduce vertebral subluxation."
